Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy combines the practice of mindfulness meditation with the tools of cognitive therapy for working with Depression and Anxiety. Mindfulness is a non-judgmental way of paying attention, in the present moment that helps change strongly held beliefs about thoughts and feelings. Cognitive therapy deals with the content and process of negative thinking that lead to depressive and anxious spirals. This workshop will help participants identify thoughts as thoughts (rather than facts) opening them to more constructive beliefs to lead to changes in moods and behaviours.
A commitment to attendance and homework activities is required.
Handouts, CDs and book are included.
